But, what\u2019s important is to market yourself with <em><strong>new and revolutionary <u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artattackk.com\/blog\/5-marketing-campaigns-that-killed-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">marketing strategies<\/a><\/u><\/strong><\/em> (In Hindi: <em>Item Purana Hai Par Packaging Nayi Hai<\/em>).<\/p>\n<p>So next time when someone tells you that your idea is mediocre and it is very likely that it won\u2019t be a success, tell him that two people can do same thing but their style and customer quotient will always be different.<\/p>\n<p><u><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artattackk.com\/blog\/7-word-of-mouth-myths-that-need-to-be-debunked\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Word of mouth<\/a><\/u> and customer satisfaction are the two terms that work better than any other earthly marketing strategy, unless, you\u2019re working at NASA.<\/p>\n<p>Peter Drucker, a world famous Australian <strong>Marketing Guru<\/strong>, has experienced the same and lived to tell the story as well. According to him, \u201c<em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself<\/span><\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But, your business certainly cannot depend upon only this! So, here are the <strong>marketing strategies for startups<\/strong> that you need to follow so that your startup doesn\u2019t become a sinking ship, just like Titanic!<\/p>\n<p>Bad joke again, but, ha, it\u2019ll have to become the <strong>Titanic<\/strong> first.<\/p>\n<p>Let\u2019s make it the Titanic without the sinking part, shall we?<\/p>\n<h2>1.) Think before Choosing any Marketing Medium.<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-803 size-full\" title=\"Marketing Medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artattackk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/2.webp\" alt=\"Marketing Medium\" width=\"978\" height=\"497\" \/><\/p>\n<p>One wise man named <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Fred_Wilson_(financier)\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\">Fred Wilson<\/a> has said some stupid thing that too in the most humongous stupid way possible. He stated that marketing is for those who have sucky products.<\/p>\n<p>Although, this gentleman has made some fine remarks about marketing these days, but, you can\u2019t make your business famous in a country or the world just by having a telephone at your desk waiting for the word of mouth to even spread through the street.<\/p>\n<p><em>So what\u2019s right<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p>The best thing to do is <strong><em><u>invest wisely in the marketing methods<\/u><\/em><\/strong> coz most of them don\u2019t bring any expected results.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>E.g<\/em>.<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> \u2018<em>Promote Me<\/em>\u2019<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> <em>button on Facebook or paying some stupid SEO guy to use some inorganic methods to get you more likes on Facebook<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>In these cases, the above thought always holds true.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Snapchat, Dropbox, Hotmail<\/strong>, etc. are among the many examples of the companies who\u2019ve never spent a single penny on marketing.<\/p>\n<p>Their products were so viable among the customers that there was never once a need for marketing.<\/p>\n<p>According to a blog on VentureHarbour, a site dedicated to marketing innovations, it is clear that a startup\u2019s ability to go viral depends on two things, one is time, and the other one is word of mouth.<\/p>\n<p>If you place the number of users on Y-axis and time on X-axis, then you\u2019ll get some astonishing results such as this:<\/p>\n<p><em><u>If each of your users is lead generating then your graph would be a 45-degree straight line but, if your users believe in broadcasting good things, then, you\u2019ll experience an exponential growth of your business<\/u><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-804 size-full\" title=\"Data\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artattackk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/3.webp\" alt=\"Data\" width=\"978\" height=\"497\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Credits: Publitas<\/p>\n<p>So before opting for any medium, think wisely whether it\u2019s going to help you or not?<\/p>\n<h2>2.) Choose Your Target Audience, only.<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-805 size-full\" title=\"Target Audience\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artattackk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/4.webp\" alt=\"Target Audience\" width=\"978\" height=\"497\" \/><\/p>\n<p>What\u2019s the problem with Facebook or Twitter promotion schemes, is that they don\u2019t reach out to your target audience only.<\/p>\n<p>They distribute the ads without basic filtering, and even though they charge you for the amount of likes or number of people seeing this ad, you\u2019ll never be able to hit the head right where it hurts<\/p>\n<p>So, even they see, or like your post, they can never be categorized as the quality leads.<\/p>\n<p>I guess it\u2019s better to use multicasting than broadcasting. (<em>You\u2019ll understand this only if you have paid enough attention to your Engineering subjects, otherwise, broadcasting means sending the information to everybody and multicasting means selective broadcasting<\/em>).<\/p>\n<h2>3.) The world is changing and, with the gibberish content like this nothing but, your bounce rate will increase.<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">Give yourself some reading time to read out the content that you want your users to read and analyze yourself if it\u2019s worth sharing or not?<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<h2>4.) Understand the Customer&#8217;s Needs<\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-807 size-full\" title=\"Understand the Customer's Needs\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artattackk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/6.webp\" alt=\"Understand the Customer's Needs\" width=\"978\" height=\"497\" \/><\/p>\n<p>To optimize your leads and turn them into your potential customers, you\u2019ll have to first understand their needs and adapt some changes into your product according to them.<\/p>\n<p>Because hey, the customer is God? And, the only thing we can do to a God is bow down and oblige. (\u201c<em>Indian Seculars<\/em>\u201d are exempted from that rule)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Always remember that you\u2019re the \u201cpayee\u201d and he is the \u201cpayer\u201d, so you should better start listening<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>A site doesn\u2019t become successful only after <strong>A\/B testing<\/strong>, instead, the real testing is done at the user\u2019s end. To pass it, should be of the paramount significance to you.<\/p>\n<h2>5.) (Hindi: <em>Sab Paani Bharte Hain Mere Samne<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p><em style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Start believing in evolution from today and to make a brand you should first analyze your shortcoming<\/strong>s<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Build your brand as you\u2019re building up a character. People perceive your brand according to how you carry yourself, in the meetings, parties and even in the loo.<\/p>\n<p>So make sure to be humble always and avoid any aggressive marketing schemes. User Experience and Feedback<\/h2>\n<p>Well, user experience doesn\u2019t always refer to website\u2019s interface and how responsive is it really?<\/p>\n<p>(To know about the difference between UI and UX, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artattackk.com\/blog\/ui-vs-ux-pretty-or-functional\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click Me<\/a>)<\/p>\n<p>Going back to the layman ways, an experience of something means how good it feels after and while doing it, right?<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-809 size-full\" title=\"User Experience and Feedback\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artattackk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/8.webp\" alt=\"User Experience and Feedback\" width=\"978\" height=\"497\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Well, the same concept is applied here; the <strong>user experience<\/strong> is the users\u2019 review of your product and he can also share that with you in the feedback section (if only you allow such stupid things on your website).<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">So don\u2019t leave a customer hanging from the cliff while you go out hiking with your friends on his money, coz hey, that\u2019s rude!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Make sure you opt for a stable relationship instead of a one night stand.<\/p>\n<h2>7.) *This one is a good point, haven\u2019t decided the name though*<\/h2>\n<p>I\u2019m just kidding!<\/p>\n<p>The point that I want to bring your attention to, is the most important and least discussed among them all. i.e. <em style=\"font-size: 18px;\"><strong>Budget<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-810 size-full\" title=\"Budget\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artattackk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/9.webp\" alt=\"Budget\" width=\"978\" height=\"497\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Most people believe that good funding and spending hefty amount of money on various ad campaigns will bring them tasty results.<\/p>\n<p>But, that\u2019s not completely true!<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019ve seen brands spending money like it\u2019s nothing (Hindi: Paani Jaise Paise Bahaye), still, that didn\u2019t render them successful.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>So you have to keep revising your budget strategies according to the market, obviously, along with the product as well, because what\u2019s good with finding worthless thing inside a gold coated million dollar wrapping paper( Hindi: Khoda Pahad Nikli Chuhiya)<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to a site named Just Creative, make sure to outsmart your competitor instead of running a marathon with him while knowing all the time that at the finishing line, either one of you, is going to lose all his money and, that \u201ceither\u201d can be you as well.<\/p>\n<h2>8.) Challenge yourself and Your Competitor as Well.<\/h2>\n<p>Well, it\u2019s not tough to pick a fight these days, but, what\u2019s important is that whether you are you going to face your competitor or would just run off into the wild.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>(PS: Running is good for health and \u2018into the wild\u2019 is a must watch)<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>We are not going to do that for now. We will train hard, fight harder, and, we will win.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-811 size-full\" title=\"Challenge yourself and Your Competitor\" src=\"https:\/\/www.artattackk.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/06\/10.webp\" alt=\"Challenge yourself and Your Competitor\" width=\"978\" height=\"497\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But, to do that we\u2019ll need material, a lot really! What\u2019s the best place you suggest we can get material from?<\/p>\n<p>Exactly, your competitor.<\/p>\n<p>We are going to rob him off his tactics and strip him naked off his money. But, we are going to do that in the \u201c<em>politically correct<\/em>\u201d way!<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><u>So, what you need to do, is research about the market and how your competitor is performing so well in this domain, i.e. his tactics.<\/u><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Well, for all I believe in is if you don\u2019t know nothing about your competitor\u2019s tactics, you\u2019ve got no business in running up a business.<\/p>\n<p>Everything is fair in love and war. This old but wise saying will come to your save whenever you need it. (Social advice: everything is not fair in love, ok?)<\/p>\n<p>Now you got his tactics, know at what price he is offering the product to his customers and if you can cut down something there as well, Bingo! (Hindi: <em>Jiski Thali main Khana Ussi main Chhed Karna<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p>This done, now the most important part is to challenge yourself.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>Always remember, nothing is good enough! Even when your bounce rate is as low as 20 percent, it can always get better than that!<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t be too harsh on yourself, you cannot scale the mountains in just one day. Allow yourself and your employees to cool off a bit.<\/p>\n<p>(Coz <em>all work no play, makes Jack a dull boy, and you surely wouldn\u2019t want to become like Jack from \u2018The Shining\u201d, again nice movie<\/em>. Must watch!)<\/p>\n<h2>The Conclusion.<\/h2>\n<p>To conclude it in the few points would be tough, but, I would try my best.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>Use both <strong>free and paid advertising tools<\/strong>, as ads are important, not too many but enough to make your point. (E.g. Google AdWords, Facebook, Twitter promotions, etc<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li><em>Before rolling out your website, put significant efforts in <strong>A\/B testing<\/strong> as it helps you with preliminary views of the user.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Keep an eye out for <strong>bounce rate, conversion rates, responsive website design,<\/strong> etc. Or you can leave that to your SEO guy as well and over the period just walk up to him and say \u201cI need results\u201d, that\u2019ll make your point.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Optimize your efforts but don\u2019t compromise with the <strong>customer satisfaction<\/strong>.<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Build for today, tomorrow, and future.
